SABA Health Services

 

1. Health Education

 Did you know that diseases that cause the most death each year can be prevented simply through healthy life style? Heart disease, stroke and cancers are the leading causes of death in many countries while good nutrition, physical activity and peace of mind can very likely keep you away from these illnesses.  SABA free clinic provides various health education programs in healthy life style and disease management. Specifically, health education is provided in the following areas:

Nutrition, Exercise, Women’s Health, Mental Health, Diabetes, Cholesterol Management, and Heart Disease Prevention and Control.

Interested individuals can schedule private consultation appointments with our health educators and learn about how to lead a healthy life according to current medical science and our valuable religious teachings.  You can also have your health-related questions answered online by posting them on the forum section.

 

2. Medical Care

SABA clinic provides primary care services that do not require hospitalization or extensive care.

SABA clinic also provides limited services in the following areas of specialty:

Cardiology, Chiropractics, Internal Medicine, Gynecology, Pain management, Pediatrics, Pharmacy Consultation, and Psychiatry.

If you need medical services in any of the above area, please email appointments@sabaclinic.org  with the following information: name, phone number, reason for doctor visit, available times for the following two weeks.

 

3. Government-Based Health Services

There are several government-based health insurances available for eligible uninsured individuals. You can review the eligibility criteria for each health program and let us know if you believe you are eligible. We will help you in registering for these programs. Specifically, if you have kids under the age of 18 who are not insured, please consider contacting us as you may be eligible for aid.

  • Family Pact Program: Is a program offered at Valley Medical Center which provides free health care services to women at childbearing age. Eligibility is based on income. For a family of two, the monthly income needs to be lower than about $2400. You also need to be a resident of Santa Clara County although citizenship status is not considered as part of eligibility criteria. If you believe that you are eligible, you can contact health center in order to help you with registration. 

 

  • Healthy Families: Provides full medical care, dental care and vision care for children and teenagers. Eligibility criteria does not depend on immigration status. Your family needs to live in Santa Clara County, your children must be less than 19 years old and your family needs to be a low or middle income. Your family income needs to fall within the range included below. You may still quality if your income is higher.

             

 

  • Medi-Cal:Provides full or partial medical and dental insurance for certain groups of people. Eligible categories include families with children (parents quality if one is absent/passed away, unemployed, disabled), pregnant women, and some adults (elderly, blind or disabled, those with breast/cervical cancer, or kidney dialysis).   Eligibility is based on citizenship/immigration status as well as income. Persons applying for Medi-cal must be a California resident and U.S. citizen. Non Citizens are also eligible for restricted health coverage.

            

 

4. Social Services

Are you or a family member a smoker? Consider free smoke cessation classes available that would help you and your families to stay away from various types of diseases and cancers associated with smoking.  

SABA free clinic will put you in  contact with useful social services such as smoke cessation classes included below.

American Lung Association hold free smoke cessation classes every few months. The class meets in different locations in the Bay Area, for two days per week during the afternoon for a course of 6 weeks. Please contact SABA free clinic (questions@sabaclinic.org)  if you are interested to help your family member or yourself to quit smoking.

 

5. Outside Free Clinics

 Do you need a medical service that is not available at SABA free clinic?

There are a number of free clinics in the area where you can receive medical services if you don’t have insurance. Call them and ask about your needed service.
